Can you see what animal it is?

In the Nursery this week we have been sponge painting around an animal shape, and making silhouettes. We have really loved making them, look at the fantastic colours around each animal.

Can you guess what animals they are, looking at the shapes?

Do you remember the Doctor’s Surgery from the Nursery? Well now it has changed into a Vet’s surgery! Our topic in the Nursery is now ‘Animals’ so we are looking how a Vet and a Veterinary Nurse can look after your sick pets.

Come and see!

RE

In RE we have been looking at what makes a good follower of Jesus.

We talked about what qualities Jesus wants in his followers.

We made some wanted posters and learnt a song about God calling each one of us by name to follow Him and be great Christians.

Visit by Chocolate by Design – Year 3

Today, Monday 22nd June, we arrived at school knowing something exciting was going to happen but we hadn’t been told what!  We knew it would be something amazing as Miss McGlinchey and Miss Daly couldn’t stop grinning!!!

When we got back to class after assembly, we saw a table set up, covered with chocolate.  There were two friendly faced visitors waiting to greet us into the classroom.

During the morning we learnt all about the history and geography of chocolate.

In the afternoon, we designed and made chocolate pizzas!!!!

“It was fun!  I learnt all about chocolate and Cacao beans.” Teo

“It was the most fun activity ever!” Alex

“They were the best visitors we have ever had!” Keren

“When I heard what the day was going to be about, I already didn’t want it to end!” Mason

“I was so excited!  I can’r believe this has happened!” Diana

“I said to myself, “I must be dreaming!” because it was amazing and I didn’t want it to end!” Lincoln

“We learnt so many things to day including who discovered chocolate, where it grows and all about Fair trade!”  FionaDSC00570 DSC00528 DSC00678 DSC00673 DSC00659 DSC00671 DSC00672 DSC00658 DSC00536 DSC00532 DSC00533 DSC00534 DSC00528 DSC00530 DSC00531

On Friday 12th June, Year 3 opened their doors to parents and friends for the long awaited Rainforest cafe!

We were all very excited and have worked long and hard to make sure it was an enjoyable experience for all.  We baked in class and parents and friends of Year 3 donated tasty treats for us to sell!  We also worked hard to produce Rainforest arts and crafts!

When the doors opened at 2pm we could not believe how many customers we had!!  We had to ask people to take the food and drink they had bought and sit outside with it!  However, this worked out very well for us because parents were then led to our wonderful arts and crafts stall which they could browse at their leisure!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the cafe to support us!!

We are still counting the money!

Y6 Trip to Robin Wood

Last week most of Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful residential trip to Robin Wood. The pupils took on a range of challenges including bouldering, trapeze, Piranha Pool, Dungeon of Doom and Alien Conspiracy. The children displayed excellent problem solving skills, team work, physical fitness and buckets of tenacity and bravery. It was a brilliant trip and a great way to start their final half-term here at Our Lady’s.DSC00532 DSC00234
