This years sacramental programme class met for the first time this year during the 11.30 Mass at Our Lady’s Church. It is a big group with children from other schools as well. We spent our time together today getting to know each other. We are looking forward to going on this exciting journey together.
The children who took part in last year’s sacramental programme
After the beginning of the year Mass yesterday, the children on the Sacramental Programme were treated to a party by Mrs Ward in the Year 6 classroom. It was lovely to see them all dressed in their finery celebrating the end of a very special year for them.
Meet Lily Jayne Moore, the beautiful daughter of Mr Moore and his wife Heather. Lily was born in the very early hours of Monday morning weighing 8lb and 11oz. Everyone here at Our Lady’s can’t wait to meet her!
It’s always nice to hear how ex pupils of our school are doing but we were particularly pleased (but not surprised) to hear that Enoma has been announced as head girl at our feeder school, Loreto High School. Enoma is one of the junior catechists at Our Lady’s Church and helps Carrie with the sacramental programme – well done Enoma, we are proud of you.
Today we held a cake sale to raise money for refugee aid. Parents and staff donated cakes and biscuits and as you can see from the photographs the children were only to keen to buy them. We will let you know the total amount raised once it has been counted.
Meet our new school council!
Congratulations to Isla, Waleed, Michael, Sahara, Mason, Fiona, Hanna, Kianna, Connah and Krystal
Children from the youth club spent 4 brilliant days in Windermere in the Lake District. The weather was brilliant and children took part in canoeing and orienteering, swimming in the lake and a game of crazy golf. They also had plenty of time for exploring the countryside. A great few days, we are already looking forward to our next adventure!
Mandisa and Lakeisha were the latest children to join the altar serving team at the 11.30 Mass at Our Lady’s Church on a Sunday morning. They join other children from our school who are already altar servers. Watch out for Mason who will also become an altar server in the next few weeks.
Congratulations to Omarah who took part in a fantastic improvisation performance as the participant in a school sports day where some of the competitors were extremely competitive. She certainly is very talented!
