The Nursery children have been so busy this half term! As well as settling so well, and making new friends, we have been very busy learning all about ourselves.
We know lots of songs about our bodies, I wonder if the children have been singing them at home?
I have a body, 1 finger 1 thumb, With my hands on my head, Who’s that in the middle of the circle, to name but a few.
We have been learning about shape, colour, numbers and patterns throughout many creative activity. We have been learning about the changes that Autumn brings as well as exploring the garden to investigate God’s wonderful world.
The stories we have concentrated on this term have been:
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Owl Babies, What the Ladybird Heard, The Gruffalo and The Storm Whale. Has your child talked about these books with you? Maybe you already read them at home.
We wish you all a restful and peaceful half term holiday,
The Nursery Team
Our Frogspawn have hatched, and we have a tank absolutely filled with tadpoles! They are fantastic swimmers. Come and visit them if you are passing the Nursery this week, because they won’t be tadpoles for much longer. Do you know what they will become?
If you don’t get to see a firework display this bonfire night, just come into the Nursery! We made some fantastic fireworks using paint, a fork, some glitter, and black card for the night sky.
What colours can you see?
Nursery class had such a good time skipping in the hall with ‘Skipping John’. He taught us not to skip but to bounce. We played lots of fun games with the skipping ropes. Thank you skipping John!
Every year on this day year 6 remembers their good friend Yolanda and her brother Theo. They have lived in heaven for 6 years now, and today we decorated their special apple tree, and said prayers and shared stories.
Well done Year 6, your hearts that you’ve made are beautiful.
